Job Description

Accounts Assistant (24 hours per fortnight)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant.  The role is 24hours per fortnight, worked as follows:  Week One 2 x 5 hour days, Week Two: 2 x 7 hour days 

Your tasks will include accounts payable, processing of payroll, monthly bank reconciliations,  credit card reconciliations and providing support to the and Payroll and Finance Administrator.

Desired Skills and Experience

Professional Requirements  

  • Is competent with the Accounting and Wage & Salary Computer Packages 
  • Is competent in working with the Microsoft packages, in particular Excel 
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral 
  • Flexible 
  • Self disciplined  
  • High level of integrity and discretion 
  • Excellent time-management abilities 
  • Well-developed people management abilities 

Personal Requirements 

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Has a willingness to work within the philosophy and values of Te Omanga Hospice and towards the achievement of its goals 
  • Has an ability to work as a member of a team 
  • Has a willingness to be flexible and occasionally work outside of standard hours as required 
  • Sense of Humour
