About the position
The Brand, Marketing & Communications Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic leadership of Te Omanga Hospice’s brand, marketing and communications across the whole organisation, including hospice services, fundraising, community engagement, education and our retail stores.
The role is accountable for developing and delivering an integrated brand, marketing and communications strategy that strengthens Te Omanga’s reputation, increases awareness and understanding of our services, supports fundraising and retail activity, and builds meaningful engagement with our community.
A key focus of the role is creating a clear and compelling organisational narrative that reflects Te Omanga’s purpose and impact and connects patients and whānau, staff, volunteers, donors, supporters and the wider community with the work we do.
The role provides strategic communications advice to the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team and leads the Marketing & Communications function to ensure high-quality, coordinated and effective delivery across all channels.

Significant experience in senior marketing, communications, brand or related leadership roles.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing organisation-wide brand, marketing and communications strategies.
Strong strategic thinking combined with an ability to translate strategy into effective delivery.

Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills.
Experience providing communications advice to senior executives.
Strong understanding of digital communications, social media, websites and contemporary marketing channels.
Experience managing media and reputational communications.
Experience developing integrated campaigns across multiple channels.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability.
Ability to manage competing priorities, budgets and deadlines.
Experience within the not-for-profit, healthcare, community or fundraising sector would be advantageous.
Qualifications
A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, public relations or a related discipline, or equivalent senior-level experience and knowledge.
