Job Description

Kia ora,

This is not your typical fundraising role.

We are looking for a leader — someone who can bring together strategy, storytelling, and community connection to grow our impact and ensure Te Omanga Hospice continues to provide free, specialist care to those who need it most.

At Te Omanga, what we do matters. Every dollar raised, every story shared, and every connection made directly supports patients and whānau across the Greater Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.

About the Role

As our Fundraising & Communications Manager, you will lead and shape how we connect with our community, grow our income, and tell our story.

This is a senior leadership role — not just about delivery, but about direction. You will:

  • Set and lead the fundraising and communications strategy
  • Build a high-performing, engaged team
  • Strengthen our presence, voice, and reputation in the community
  • Drive sustainable income growth across multiple channels

You will be part of the wider leadership team, contributing to organisational direction and helping ensure we continue to deliver on our purpose.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and delivering an integrated fundraising and communications strategy
  • Driving key fundraising streams including events, partnerships, and regular giving
  • Elevating Te Omanga’s brand, profile, and storytelling across all channels
  • Building strong relationships with community partners, supporters, and stakeholders
  • Leading, coaching, and inspiring a capable and committed team
  • Bringing new ideas, energy, and innovation to how we engage and grow

  • A drive to make a difference and contribute to something meaningful

Why Te Omanga?

  • A role with real purpose — your work directly impacts people’s lives
  • A supportive, values-driven organisation
  • The opportunity to shape and lead meaningful change
  • A connected and generous community that backs what we do
