Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Nurse Manager - Community Team, you will provide clinical and operational leadership to ensure safe, high‑quality, patient and whānau‑centred palliative care in the community. You will oversee day‑to‑day service coordination, maintain clinical standards, and support a high‑performing, culturally safe, team environment.
This is a role that combines leadership, clinical expertise, service development and quality improvement. You will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and champion equitable outcomes for Māori.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the community nursing team to deliver safe, holistic, culturally responsive care.
Provide clinical oversight, coaching, mentoring and professional development support.
Oversee community service coordination including triage, caseload management, admissions and discharges.
Foster strong partnerships with all stakeholders.
Lead quality improvement, service development initiatives, and evidence‑based practice.
Support recruitment, workforce planning and effective resource management.
Maintain strong communication across teams and represent Te Omanga within internal and external forums.
Desired Skills and Experience
ABOUT YOU
You will bring:
Proven leadership and people‑management experience.
Senior-level nursing expertise with specialist palliative care knowledge.
A postgraduate qualification in health leadership-management and/or palliative care.
Registration with the Nursing Council of NZ and a current APC.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and collaboration.
A commitment to cultural safety, equity, and upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing clinical and operational demands.
A full NZ driver's licence.
